West of Ireland angling is based in the village of Lahardaun, roughly half way down the western shore of Lough Conn.   We are about 12 miles from the county town of Castlebar and the same distance from Ballina, salmon angling capital of the West.   Mask is a 45-minute drive away, while Corrib is about an hour. The Colebrooke river is about two and a half hour away. Accommodation can be arranged to suit the venue and minimise travelling time.

Although Lahardaun is a small village, it nevertheless boasts all of life’s necessities – three pubs, a supermarket, a petrol station and a post office.   No need to seek out an Irish theme pub – Leonard’s offers the real thing.   One side of the main room is the bar while the other is a grocer cum hardware shop.   If you’re into rugby, “J.P.”, the owner, is your man.
